- John Chr. Vamvas S.A. is established by John C. Vamvas.
- 1950
- The company starts distributing products of European medical companies.
- 1960
- The company opens branch office in Northern Greece
- 1964
- Exclusive cooperation with Aesculap AG® in Greece begun
- 1970
- Market share in surgical instruments and hospital equipment is gradually expanded. Surgical business is extended to cover gynaecology, ENT and cardiothoracic disciplines. The Northern and greater Southern Greek market is entered.
- 1980
- The company is relocated from downtown Athens to its spacious new facility at Mavili Sq. Place, in a more modern business environment.
- 1988
- The company enters the neurosurgery market by launching neurosurgical instruments, implants and large equipment.
- 1990
- The number of cooperation contracts with international medical companies is increased. The surgical division expands into plastic surgery. The company is exclusively gaining access to the orthopedic market.
- 1998
- Bigger market share is achieved in the surgical, neurosurgical and orthopedic market.
- 2002
- Specialized sales business units are introduced in the company structure.
- 2003
- "Vamvas Training Centre" is born.
- 2004
- The surgical division expands into the fields of cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, interventional radiology and endoscopy. The company moved to larger premises at 533, Mesogion Ave., in Agia Paraskevi into an expanded and modernized complex.
- 2006
- Celebrating 60 years of Vamvas Medicals® quality you can trust (1946-2006)! Vamvas Medicals® is expanding into Cyprus & Bulgaria. The Group expands into other enterprises; establishes FASMA Travel & Congress. Vamvas Medicals Group of Companies® awarded among the top 10 companies for its ‘best workplace’ www.vamvasmedicals.gr is launched.
- 2007
- The Group expands into the area of yachting; establishes Aquacraft. Group’s staff is extended to 170 people.
- 2011
- Exclusive agreement with KCI (Kinetic Concepts Inc) is established. Entrance in the wound care market with V.A.C.
